October 15: Pregnancy and Infant Awareness Day

October 15th is Pregnancy and Infant Awareness Day, which is fitting because this month we would have been welcoming our fourth child on October 31st. I was able to read different Facebook posts about women who have lost little ones at different stages of pregnancies and some that were stillborn. The most important message I got out of everything that I read is.... it is okay to grieve even if I was wasn't far along. It is okay to talk about it and share my feelings. Most want you to acknowledge that they lost a baby.
Even though my little one was only 14 weeks when I miscarried I think about that little one all the time. As my friends bellies started growing I would think that should be me. As friends shared their ultrasound I would be a little envious. Then they all started posting their delivery stories. At times I was sad, but I was still happy that their babies were healthy. I appreciated the friends that would ask how I was doing instead of ignoring the fact that I wasn't pregnant anymore.
If I can take anything from this experience is to be more aware of everyone's situation and make sure I talk about it with them. Hopefully, they will know that I care and can call me whenever they need to talk. I know I will be able to heal more now that my due date has passed.

We stopped by Krispy Kreme to get their free donut.

We went trick or treating at Aunt Kristen and Uncle Eric's neighborhood again this year.

 The first thing we did this year was pull out all the nut candy from everyone's bags. Then they dug through and looked at all their goodies.

Lily's Soccer Experience

We decided to put Lily in soccer this semester instead of dance. We wanted her to try something new. She has enjoyed the practices and games. For this age group they don't keep score which makes it less stressful for the kids. Lily is not one to hop in and try to kick the ball, but she does run the field back and forth with everyone.

Hayley's Allergy Test October 21,2016

Since Hayley has stopped eating baby food she has been having reactions to foods. We have tried to pin point what foods are causing it. We took her to a dermatologist and they said she had thin skin, so she was sensitive to some foods on her face. She was still having reactions even after I used cream that the dermatologist recommended.
Finally, I decided it was time to have her see an allergist and get tested. I told Dr. Stillwagon that I wanted to test tomatoes, peaches, and peanut butter. Then she added a few other common items to test. I was VERY surprised at the test results. Hayley is allergic to PEANUTS, TREE NUTS, DOGS, and TREES. I am glad we took her in. We are the proud owners of an epic pen! Let's hope we never need to use it. I am grateful Hayley only broke out on her face and it wasn't worse.

Trunk or Treat October 28, 2016

We had our ward Trunk or Treat activity on Friday. The girls had fun playing the different games, Since our ward split it was a lot smaller and half the amount of cars for trunk or treating. That just meant we got to take some of our candy home, which is okay with me!

Pumpkin Carving

We kept the pumpkins that the kids hand picked in from the orchard in a safe place. The Monday before our trunk or treat we carved them for Halloween. Katelyn picked out a ghost and Lily picked princess Ariel. The girls helped pull out the seeds and then Scott did all the carving.

Vertuccio Farms October 22,2016

We grabbed a groupon to Vertuccio Farms again this year. There were several new activities and the girls enjoyed trying the activities and seeing the animals.
