Telling My Class (Feb. 23)

Monday I decided to tell my 5th graders that I was pregnant. I am starting to show and thought I had waited long enough. I decided to throw a little education in there and we made two charts. One chart I had them predict if it is going to be a boy or a girl. Then the other chart they were to predict what month I am due and the day. Here some cute comments and questions from this week that I heard.
1. That is the most amazing news I have ever heard. I can't believe!
2. I know she is due in April because she is "so big"! (That was my favorite)
3. Then yesterday a student asked, "Doesn't it hurt the baby's legs when you sit down."

Their month predictions were pretty accurate. We will see who was right about it being a boy or girl next week!!

Oceanography Club Feb. 22-24

The 5th grade teachers have an Oceanography Club that meets every other Friday and we rotate teaching lessons. The end activity is a trip to Sea World. On Friday the 22nd we loaded two charter buses at 10:00PM and headed to California. I was worried about how I would feel and that I would need to take constant trips to the bus bathroom. I slept pretty well on the bus and my bladder survived. The kids loaded two boats to go whale watching at 5:00AM. I stayed on the bus and slept for a few more hours. The kids had fun and saw several dolphins in the water. They also got to pull up a huge net and see different sea animals up close. (Don't worry the animals are put back into the water and are not harmed!) When they came back we ate breakfast. Then headed to Sea World for a day of fun. This is my fourth trip with the club and I still had fun at Sea World. The next day we went to Scripps Aquarium. It was a long weekend, but everyone had a great time!!

Flooring is Complete (Feb. 1st)

We finally had the flooring installed on Friday. Scott was able to work from home. I checked my messages Friday morning and heard a message from Scott saying there were some problems and it will cost more money. Ahhhh!! We had cracks in the foundation when they pulled up the carpet that had to be fixed. Our linoleum floors were too bad and had to be removed. Originally they were going to do the flooring over the linoleum. Well, a couple hundred dollars more and the floors look beautiful. I am still afraid to walk on them. We are going to get a rug for the living room and then our little condo will look so cute.

Baby Update (Jan. 30th)

I went in for a check up on Wednesday. They say the heartbeat sounds good and I am doing fine. I will have my ultrasound the first week in March. I can't wait to see the ultrasound and find out what we are having!!

Whirly Bird Wednesday (Jan 30th)

Each Wednesday Fox 10 goes to a different school in the valley. We signed up for them to come. Most of the school came early to see the Fox 10 helicopter land. Everyone was so excited and we had so much fun. My class tried their hardest to get on TV, but they seemed to like the younger kids more. I got plenty of pictures of them and they didn't have to do school work, so they were okay with not making it on TV. The Super Bowl mascot, Spike, even came to visit.
